About Lynn Herbert & Co.

Lynn Herbert & Co. was founded in 1994 by Lynn Herbert who had previously practised in Leven since she qualified in 1981. Since then the firm has grown steadily and Lynn has the support of Partner Julie Craigie along with solicitors Paul Buist and Morgan Wilson along with experienced secretarial and administrative staff.

Lynn Herbert

Lynn was born and brought up in Glasgow. She graduated from Glasgow University and then served her apprenticeship with a Glasgow firm before moving to Fife. Lynn deals principally with Court work, including Family Law, Children’s Panel hearings, Criminal Law, Landlord and Tenant, and debt actions.

She is instructed to prepare reports for the court in family cases, is a Notary Public and a member of the Family Law Association.

Lynn is married with two children and in her spare time enjoys outdoor activities, travelling and  reading.

Julie Craigie

Julie studied in Aberdeen and Edinburgh, graduating in 2000. She worked for 18 years at Andrew K. Price Limited in Kirkcaldy before joining Lynn Herbert & Co in 2021.

Julie undertakes Residential Conveyancing including house sales and purchases, transfers of title and remortgages as well as Executries, Wills, Powers of Attorney, Inheritance Tax and general Care Costs advice. Julie is an Accredited Member of Solicitors for the Elderly and an Affiliate Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners putting her in an excellent position to provide comprehensive advice to help clients plan for the future.

Julie is a keen photographer in her spare time and is Proprietor of ‘Jules Craigie Photography’. When she is not undertaking either legal or photography work she enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with her other half and their son.

Paul Buist

Paul studied and trained in Edinburgh. He brings more than 30 years of conveyancing and property law experience to Lynn Herbert & Co., having previously worked for both large law firms in Edinburgh and a local firm in Leven, as well as for the Land Register of Scotland.

Paul specializes in residential property, dealing with all types of property matters in an efficient, professional and jargon-free way. Whether you are buying or selling your main home, a second or holiday home or buy-to-let property, Paul will guide you through the process from start to finish. He will make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible. If you are looking to remortgage or to release equity from your property, Paul can deal with that too. The format of title deeds has improved greatly over recent years but there may still be times when it still looks gobbledygook. If you find yourself in a position where you need to know what the gobbledygook actually means (e.g. if you are in dispute with a neighbour about a boundary), ask Paul. He will be glad to help.

Paul raised his family in Fife and enjoys studying foreign languages, travelling, dining, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.

Morgan Wilson

Morgan is a solicitor who was born and brought up in Fife before moving to Dundee to complete her LLB and Diploma at the University of Dundee.

Morgan undertakes mostly both Civil and Criminal Court work but does undertake some Executries, Wills and Powers of Attorney

In her spare time Morgan enjoys spending time with her friends and family and visiting new places.
