About Lynn Herbert & Co.

Lynn Herbert & Co. was founded in 1994 by Lynn Herbert who had previously practised in Leven since she qualified in 1981. Since then the firm has grown steadily and Lynn has the support of solicitors Charlotte Cockburn  and Mollie Simpson as well as  experienced secretarial and administrative staff.

We are a modern legal practice providing a full range of legal services to the local community. We pride ourselves in providing a friendly, personal, and efficient service to all our clients.

Lynn Herbert

Lynn was born and brought up in Glasgow. She graduated from Glasgow University and then served her apprenticeship with a Glasgow firm before moving to Fife. Lynn deals principally with Court work, including Family Law, Children’s Panel hearings, Criminal Law, Landlord and Tenant, and debt actions.

She is instructed to prepare reports for the court in family cases, is a Notary Public and a member of the Family Law Association.

Lynn is married with two children and in her spare time enjoys outdoor activities, travelling and  reading.

Charlotte Cockburn

Charlotte joined the firm in April 2018. After completing her traineeship here at the firm she is now a fully qualified solicitor.

Before joining the firm she obtained her Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Strathclyde. In 2016 she also graduated from Bonn University’s Summer School in Intellectual Property Law after having been the only successful Scottish applicant.

Prior to joining the firm Charlotte worked with the Citizen’s Advice Bureau and spent three years working part-time with children. Charlotte enjoys reading, has an interest in history and  likes to go travelling.

Mollie Simpson

Mollie was born and brought up in Leven. She graduated from the University of Dundee in 2016 after obtaining her Diploma in Professional Legal Practice. She completed her traineeship in an Edinburgh based firm predominantly specialising in Personal Injury law and spent a further two years there before joining Lynn Herbert & Co. in August 2020. Mollie advises clients in all areas of family law including child contact cases, separations, divorces and Children’s Panel hearings.

During her law degree Mollie volunteered with Citizens Advice and Rights Fife and an advocacy service, Include Me. In her spare time Mollie enjoys exercising, going to music festivals and spending time with family and friends.
